South Lyon, Michigan - Brookside Communities and HomeFirst™ Certified Communities are proud to announce that Woodland Ridge has been awarded “Best New Land-Lease Community in the United States” for 2005, by The Manufactured Housing Institute (MHI). The award was presented at the Paris Hotel in Las Vegas on March 30, 2006 at MHI’s National Congress and Expo. Kenneth Lipschutz, Bart Lewis and Richard Winkelman, partners in Brookside Communities, gladly accepted the award on behalf of the community.

This is the first award for Woodland Ridge and the second for a HomeFirst™ Certified Community. Augusta Woods in Willis, Michigan, won in 2003 for “Best New Land-Lease Community over 250 sites in the Midwest.”

MHI and a panel of experts from the planning, community development, lending, and homebuilding professions evaluated the “Community of the Year” entries. Communities were judged on community aesthetics, features, resident interviews, quality of the development and homes, marketing materials, site plan, and community and industry involvement.
